Caitlin and Derek are getting married!  What a great reason to gather family and friends to Celebrate!  Mother Nature seemed to be celebrating too as all the flower seemed to burst into bloom just in time for this weekend.

Caitlin and her mom are such creative and talented spirits.  They have been busy gathering ideas and making amazing decorations for the upcoming wedding.   And so being the ingenious girls that they are, they used all of the things they have been working on for the wedding to decorate for the Engagement Party!

I absolutely loved her theme of birds (so romantic).  Her color choice of green which looks so perfect with just about everything but especially the old dictionary paper (that belonged to Derek’s Grandfather) that she used in all kinds of clever ways.  Caitlin has a wonderful eye for design and I lover her unique style of taking everyday items and making them shine!

And speaking of shining – Caitlin wore a sparkly royal blue sequin dress and was absolutely radiant.  She truly was the “cake topper” of the event and Derek beamed everytime he was around her!  Isn’t Love Grand?

Bri was a bridesmaid in one of my weddings last year and this year it is her turn!

I met Cory and Krystal in the oak covered hills of Atascadero on the most amazingly, warm March day.   It really is wonderful being a photographer here in San Luis Obispo County.  The property had beautiful warm golden light streaming through oak trees, a treehouse and fields.  Add to that two people who obviously adore each other and it just doesn’t get much better than that.

I just love that Cory’s Motorcross number is 811 which just happened to work out to be their  wedding date too (Saturday, August 8th).  What a great save a date picture idea!

Thank you Cory and Krystal for such a fun engagement session.  You two are such a cute couple and what a beautiful wedding I am sure you will enjoy!

We had such a great engagment session with lots of fun looks but when I clicked the shutter on this image I just knew it was amazing!!

Jamie and Paul are getting married in September at the O’Mally’s Portola Inn in Atascadero!  The more I get to know this couple the more I think that Portola Inn will be a perfect choice for their wedding

Jamie and Paul both love the outdoors and camping and they love my lab Gunner, which made us instant friends.  So when we talked about personalizing their engagemnt, casual session Jamie came up with some great ideas!   I loved the idea of setting up a tent and incorporating firewood and “s’mores”.  Jamie and Paul are both creative and so together we just came up with one idea after another!

On the day of their session the skies were cloudy and threatening to sprinkle but that didn’t stop us from getting some amazing images!  We headed out to Cerro Alto campground and really had a wonderful time together.

Congratulations you two for finding each other and making each other so happy!  I can’t wait until your wedding!

I met with Andrew and Alyssa on a beautiful Sunday at the amazing Spanish Oaks Ranch in Santa Margarita, California and as you can see they fit in perfect with the rustic, country setting of the ranch.  I’ve been really encouraging my couples to come up with some fun ways to share their lifestyle, interests and personality in their portraits.  I love the chalk writing of the date on the cowboy boots and on saying the bridge.  How fun is the red MGM Convertible too!

I had so much fun hanging out with these two.  It was obvious that they adored each other and they made my job so easy!

On a side note – I’m not one to do a lot of jabbering on and on, on my blog.  I really like the photos to speak for themselves but I do have to appoligize for the long break since my last blog post.  I guess I took the Holiday break a little too serious  However I have been out shooting and getting some beautiful images.  I am hoping soon to get my website and blog combined to streamline my computer time.  Look for some changes coming up!

So here we are at Christmas time!  A time for hustle, bustle and feeling overwhelmed.  However the true meaning of Christmas is LOVE and what greater love is there than that felt by every family as they welcome their newborn miracle into the world and into their family.

So this morning as I listened to Christmas music and played with Miss C’s beautiful newborn portraits my heart filled with the most joyous feeling!  Looking at this newborn baby made me feel so much hope for the future, so mch love for my family and for this season of year.

I hope that these images will touch your heart also.  May Your Christmas be filled with Love and may you find wonderful ways to share that love this season and all through the New Year!

My Grandmother use to always say Newborn babies smile because they are playing with angels in their dreams……Lately I’ve been so lucky to capture these flickering smiles that truly melt a heart!
So the object is to get the baby’s head proped up on her hands but for Little Miss C  it really wasn’t working but honestly I love having the mom’s hands in this picture.  It gives scale to just how small this baby is and there is a sweet smile on baby’s lips and let’s face it there is no greater image of Love than a mother’s hands.  So like so many times in photography the best images just seem to unfold

Introducing Drake and Nolan!

I love all photography but my heart is especially drawn to newborn portraits.  I love being around babies and I can’t imagine a more wonderful gift I can give a family then to capture images of their tiny miracles!

This was my first experience photographing twins and I have to admit it was a little more complicated than I imagined.  I give all mother and fathers of twins an incredible amount of respect!   But we had a beautiful morning together and despite all the pee and poop we captured some priceless images.

May these little guys bring a smile to your lips and peace to your heart!
